crafts, Summer Camp, map reading for beginners, knots, swimming, climbing,
caving, kyaking, football are 
just a few of the many attractions that lay ahead
for our Cub Scouts here at 1st Pontefract Scout Centre, one of the largest
Scouting centres in Yorkshire. Badge work too is enjoyed by all, as the
individual gets the chance to work not just as a team member but on his/her
own too to gain thier Cub Scout Badge.
We have two seperate Cub Scout nights that meet each week during school terms.
Two nights to choose from:
- Baden Cubs, Mondays 18:45 to 20:15
- Powell Cubs Thursday 18:30 to 20:00

CAMPING IN EUROPE
Only 1st Pontefract Scouts offer such amazing opportunities to our Scouts. We offer European trips such as camping in France. These expeditions are very popular, especially with the chance for your Scout to reduce the overall cost by up to half the original cost, making the expedition a great value for money expedition,so booking early is essential.

[above] Outdoor Climbing at Hesley Scout Activity Centre. We had an action packed weekend that also included a BMX track
1st Pontefract Scout Centre is one of the few centres in the UK to have its own indoor traversing wall. The Climbing wall has four levels of difficulty to try, The "Extreme" level is designed for the Exlplorer Scouts age group which they've failed to do so far. But there are plenty of other levels for the Cub Scouts to try (see Above). Though from time to time we do do crafts, 1st Pontefract Scout Centre isn't a craft centre. We enjoy the outdoor life and all it has to offer, and that's what Scouting is all about.
