You can have any type of bike from a high performance to the classic Harley's. This is the only Scouting linked Motorbike Club in the world, and what a claim to fame
Currently we try to meet monthly at 1PSC for an evenings ride out during the summer months, plus the odd camping event thrown in, including a possible trip to the Isle of Man for the TT races in 2009/10.
Above: Me on my Harley Davidson Sportster XLH883 To join the group just get in touch, there will also be the odd fund raising event to help keep 1PSC well equipped during the year. The Club is free to join.
Types of Bikes I've no set rules, however I'll be using either a Harley Davidson 883 Sportster or a Honda Pan 1300 for the trips out. All bikers must have a legally road worthy bike, and suitable Motorbike Insurance. As you'd all appreciate, each rider will have different riding experience and techniques. You will not catch me on any bike pulling stupid stunts that give bikers a bad name. There will be regular stops on the rides out, or you might just want to meet up at 1PSC for a cuppa before doing your own thing. Remember, just by buying a cuppa you'll be helping the Scout centre out. We always need equipment for kids at the centre. Non-members are welcome at the centre for a cuppa too as there will be no Scouts about when we meet. Autumn / Winter Rides (These rides are tester rides for me to plan what bike rides the new group will do from Summer. All are welcome, however please let me know if you intend to come on these rides , max 8 bikers) December 2008 January 2009 February 2009 March 2009 ................................................. ADVICE LEARNERS-New to biking: For those of you who do not have a motorbike license and are over 21 years of age with a full driving license you have a choice of various Motorbike Training people in the area from Castleford to Wakefield, please get in touch and I'll give you the contact names and numbers. I took a Direct Access Course with our local motorbike training people FMT at Castleford. The course tok a full week, Monday to Friday, and cost around £600 in total that's if you pass everything.
Merchandise: There will be polo shirts, base ball hats, t shirts, bandana's for sale soon. Again all profit goes to 1PSC. You undertake joining this club at your own risk, 1PSC or any of it leaders will not accept responsibility for you or your property. You must have a full motorbike license, and insurance. You must be aware that there is a high element of risk when taking part in these activities.
