	Beaver Scouts (Baden Section) A snakey visitor March 2007 Meet the Beaver Scouts 2007 Thumbs up for Wednesday Beavers Boys & Girls Age: 6 to 8 This Scout section meets each Wednesdays 18:00 to 19:00 during school terms. Skips World Challenge! During the year 1PSC Scouts go on holiday all over the place from Brid to Sydney. Your mission is to take a picture of you on holiday holding a banner stating "1PSC Woz Here!" A4 size paper is the smallest. Then either e-mail it back to the centre when you get home. Or send in the developed picture for us to put on the wall. Mini Olympics 26 July 2006 It was a hot & sticky evening but that didn't stop the Beaver Scouts having lots of fun. From sack racing to "Welly Chucking" Who's got the sack! ................................................................................................. Games Night 10 May 2006 It was warm and sunny so why not! lets have outsdie fun on the nearby playing field. Beavers were introduced to Rounders. ................................................................................................. Road Safety Night 29 March It can get so easy for young people to forget that just because nights are getting lighter that road safety isn't as important. Well think again, Otter invited WMDC Road Safety Team to visit 1PSC to talk about road safety with demonastartions in a fun way, an action packed evening was had by all. ................................................................................................. Fire Station Visit 26 April 2006 A visit to Pontefract Fire Station is always a firm favourite for the Beaver Scouts. An hour of fun when they get the chance to sit in a fire engine and earn a badge all at the same time WOW! only at 1PSC. FULL UNIFORM to be worn please. Parents please drop off your Beaver Scout at the Firestation for 18:25 and pick up at 19:30. Please note that parking in front of the big doors isn't a good idea! ................................................................................................. Science Badge It took a week to grow the cress at home. The Beaver Scouts were split into two teams. One team had to try and grow their cress in a dark warm area at home such as an airing cupboard, whilst the other Beaver Scouts grew their cress in a warm light positing. Each day the beaver Scout had to make a note of how their project was coming along to show the other Beavers on Colony night. Have a look at the photo, it was a brilliant success with all the beavers earning their Science Badge, Well done all 1PSC Simply the Best! ................................................................................................. So what do Beaver Scouts do? Beaver Scouts are kept busy having lots of fun through our own busy Scouting programme, yet they are all learning at the same time. We encourage team work and self expression whilst in a controlled and safe environment. This allows our youngest Scouts to develop self confidence. We have and indoor traversing wall that Beaver Scouts at the age of 6 get a chance of Climbing at Level 1. Scouting has been re-invented at 1PSC making it one of Yorkshires largest Scouting Centres. .................................................................................................
