Non-Scouting Vacancies
NO LINKS TO THE
GROUP ARE NECESSARY FOR THESE POSITIONS:
Cleaner: Sorted ASAP to come down
to the centre once week to keep the place clean and tidy. The general
duties will include sweeping, vacuuming, polishing. We are desperate for
a volunteer to come along and take on the role. Currently John is doing
the cleaning. POSITION
TAKEN (Thank you Tracey)
DIY Handy
person(s):
There is always that odd job that needs sorting out, from painting to
the odd small repair at the centre. You must be reasonable at DIY, and
have your own tools though we will provide when necessary. The job is
ideal for a young at heart person(s) who want something to fill the gaps
in what can be long days.
Quarter Master:
A traditional scouting position that only large groups such as ours have.
You will be totally responsible for the sorting out and managing of the
storeroom. You will keep a log on all equipment going in and out. You
will provide from the stores all equipment needed for both camps and nighttime
activities. As camping equipment is returned, you will check its condition
and make good any small repairs, ensuring each tent is fit and ready for
the next camp. There's plenty of paperwork to do although I would like
to see more of it on the computer. It will involve opening the storeroom
under your strict supervision on Saturday mornings each week during school
terms for the shooting and archery clubs. You might also have to drop
in during the week to ensure the leaders have all equipment needed for
the nights program although this can be done during the daytime to suit
you. It's planned that only yourself and the Group Scout Leader will have
a key for the storeroom which should then help to keep it in regimental
order. Leaders should all have a scouting programs planned for the coming
months and therefore should be able to give you a list of equipment, and
when needed from the stores well in advance. A very interesting post that
will initially take up lots of time to get the stores in order and running
efficiently.
Though not
necessary, we do insist that any person volunteering for non-scouting
vacancies are CRB checked too.
